How to Find a Franchise Opportunity

As a franchise sales consultant I am often asked what is the best way to start the initial process of researching and finding the right franchise business to buy. Most of these individuals are still in the initial stages of thinking about buying a franchise, and don't necessarily have a strong opinion either way about what type of opportunity they are looking for. My answer is that there are more resources available in today's market then at anytime to find and research franchise opportunities. Below is a list of some of the most popular methods prospective franchise buyers can use to help narrow the search process and find the franchise business that's right for them.

Internet Directories:

The fastest and most convenient way to begin the process of finding a franchise is via the Internet. There are now dozens of franchise opportunities directories online today that offer comprehensive listings of franchises for sale, including information about investment levels, training, availability, and how to contact the franchise company for more details. These directories are also a good source for free information about the general process of buying a franchise business.

Franchise Industry Publications:

Trade publications are another good source for general information about franchises available and franchising industry news. There are magazines available such as Franchise Times and Entrepreneur, as well as multiple online venues such as franchise-chat.com and franchisenewscenter.com that provide a wealth of free information about finding and buying a franchise.

Trade Shows & Conventions:

There are numerous franchise opportunity trade shows and conventions held through out the year and around the world. These venues offer the chance for individuals to discover and research new opportunities, as well as the unique opportunity to meet actual representatives of franchise companies they may have an interest in. Some of the more popular shows include the National Franchise & Business Opportunities Show, and International Franchise Expo.

Franchise Consultants & Brokers:

Franchise Consultants and brokers work with as little as a few to dozens of different franchise concepts in their database that they generally have in depth knowledge about. Considering the thousands of different franchise opportunities that buyers can choose from these days, they can be effective in helping a prospective buyer narrow their search by first qualifying them, and then showing them opportunities that could be a potential good match. Since the majority of these consultants are paid a referral fee or success fee by the franchisors if one of buyers they introduce moves forward, the buyer generally has no direct expense associated in engaging a franchise consultant to help them.

Some of the potential negatives to working with a franchise consultant can include that some only represent a few or a limited menu of franchise concepts which can potentially limit the prospective buyer's exposure to seeing all the opportunities available in the market. And like some sales people who work on commission, the motivations of the consultant may some times not be entirely consistent with the prospective buyer's best interest or goals. But I would say overall, that the franchise consultant industry has a very good reputation for treating their clients fairly and professionally.

Small Business Brokers:

Many professional business brokers are also franchise consultants, and they also can be an excellent source to find existing or established franchise business for sale in your local area if you decide to go that route. Business brokers generally also have good working knowledge of how franchising works, and can often be very helpful to a prospective buyer because of their inside knowledge of the local small business market. You can find a local Business Brokers in your are by visiting a broker directory on line.

Hit The Streets:

Another good and obvious way to find a research a potential franchise opportunity is to scope out and visit existing franchise businesses in your local area. There is no better validation that a franchise opportunity concept works than seeing a busy store or restaurant full of customers. And if they are available and have the time, you may also want to ask the owner about how business is going, are they happy with the franchisor, and would they recommend this opportunity.

Office Chairs - Buying Office Chairs For Your Workplace

Buying office chairs for your workplace is a huge task given that you have to ensure that you select the finest for your workers to make them feel comfortable at your office. High-quality office chairs do not just offer comfort but as well add to the efficiency of your workers. However, there are a few things that you should remember so as to get the best deal.

Estimating the amount you can invest on chairs is the most vital thing. You should take into account the amount of money you can invest. There is a vast selection and an extensive prices range in office chairs. There are a range of elements that influence the cost such as; the fabric used in the chair, the appearance, the comfort level and several other features of the chair like swivel and hardened castor wheels attached that helps you reach the entire functional area without actually getting up, offering high levels of comfort.

Office chairs are accessible in several different varieties like swivel, ergonomic, hydraulic, task, conference room and guest chairs and so on. You should remember the type of chair that goes best with your usage and as well realize all your needs. It is worthless to spend cash on a swivel chair if your worker has a very small working space and does not require to move around hence it is very crucial to take into account the usage of that chair given that squandering wealth on a costly chair at a place where it is not even necessary is not a wise choice to make.

The fitness of your workers must be the primary concern for you and you should take all the likely steps that you can to prevent them from sickness. The chair you opt for should offer proper support to their neck, legs and back in particular the lower back to avoid body pain or any other health problems. Physically fit workers will not just be regular at job but will as well add to the efficiency for your business.

Fall Forward Fast With Your Home-Internet Business

So I was sitting in my home office looking through my bookshelf that contains my library of marketing books and courses. I started paging through one of the manuals that came with a course I bought over a year ago.

While paging through one of the chapters I stumbled across a statement that not so long ago got me through some tough times while building my success.

That statement was "fall forward fast"!

Think about that statement for a minute...

What does that mean to you?

I am going to get into what that statement means in just a minute but first I want to set you up for the answer.

When starting a business from home or online, you may find yourself overwhelmed with "the best business ever" and the "buy this and it will help you" type of offers.

I know that I find my inbox flooded with hundreds of these offers every week.

It is hard to distinguish between them all and what you feel is important to read, or what you want to proceed with.

It can be frustrating at times but it doesn't have to be...

What you need to do is "fall forward fast"!

Most people who start a home based business start it under the impression that all they are going to have to do is talk to a few of their friends, help their friends talk to a few friends and they are going to be rich. Or place a few ads to go to a website and you are going to make a ton of money.

Which in fact working from home is just like running any other business. If you were to start let's say a pizza franchise you wouldn't just sit around and hope you make money would you?

You would do what it takes, advertise, learn everything there is to know about running a successful pizza franchise. Right?

Same thing goes for running a business from home. It takes patience and determination to run a successful business from home no matter what it is that you may have been told.

Working from home takes the same types of determination as if you were to run a successful pizza franchise.

You need to learn everything you need to know in order to run a successful home business.

I always say, if you don't know how to do something... Buy a book that tells you how.

You see too many people in this industry start because they think it is going to be their way out of the rat race and finally live the life they deserve. When they aren't instantly handed a big check they think they have been burned in some way. Which in fact it is their own fault they didn't make any money, they didn't do what it takes to be successful.

You do get out of it what you put in. If you only work the bare minimum you are going to get the bare minimum out of it. In fact you can make an above average income by working from home, but you need to do what it takes to get there.

That is where "fall forward fast" comes into the picture. You see don't say to yourself "will this course or book work for me"! Of course it will.

Remember, if you don't know how to do something... Buy a book that tells you how.

I buy tons of books and courses in order to learn things that will benefit my business. I never think I have wasted money by buying a course or book. I think of it as an investment in my business.

The main thing to remember is to find something you want to learn and do it. Learn everything you can about that particular area of your business you want to be better at.

A good thing to think about is that you don't want to try and be great at everything. You don't need to be great at everything you just need to be great at one thing and good at the rest.

The point of "fall forward fast" is don't question if it works for you or if it will help you and just do it.

Just sitting back and thinking about doing something isn't going to make you any money. Any money spent in this industry on education is money well spent.

If you want to be good at prospecting, advertising, web design, or anything else that pertains to building a successful business learn how by learning from someone who is good at it.

But the main point is to do like Nike says and "Just Do It". Falling forward fast is learning as you go and falling forward fast in learning what it is that you want to learn and getting good at it. Trying to do something with the help of books and courses will be your best bet, if you don't try it you will never know if it works for your business.

Like for instance...

You want to get some results by using pay per click advertising but you don't know how to do it. You will need to buy a book to help you start your process. But you won't get anything out of the book unless you implement the contents of the book to see how it will work.

The book or course enhances you in your quest of mastering pay per click. But you won't have any idea unless you dive in a see first hand.

See what I mean.

So don't just sit back and do the bare minimum in order to "hope" you find success. It takes some determination.

The next time you see an offer for some kind of product or course out there that you think can help you. Chances are better than not that it will. So buy the course.

I am going to leave you with that...

As always, to your success,
